About us: We are a family of four with two children aged six and eight. Our kids are active and love to bike, swim and play, but also love to read and play board games. We don’t have any pets of our own, but occasionally look after a large 13 year old dog for family. Adults are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and children will be as soon as vaccination is available.
What we’re looking for: After school childcare, to pick up kids from the bus, possibly drive them to activities and help with light housekeeping. We are looking for help during the school year, but this could extend into summer work if it is a good fit for both sides. Driver’s licence, fluent in French and willing to speak French with the children are strong assets but not necessary. We are looking for someone who is reliable and consistent. Due to our professions and the health needs of our family, if will be the best fit for us all if you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and follow up-to-date public health guidelines. If you are looking for full-time hours, we know a professional family looking for help for up to 15 hours a week with light housekeeping, in the mornings while the kids are in school. So many options – part-time hours with us or full-time hours between 2 families!
Job Location: We’re located in Antigonish NS in a family friendly neighbourhood
Duties: Pick kids up from the bus stop (5 min walk from house), prepare snacks, start homework and do some supper prep. We would also love some help in our home each week while the kids are in school, helping with light house keeping (tidying, unload the dishwasher, kids laundry, fold clothes, sweep or vacuum, supper prep). Kids get off the bus around 2:30 – 2:45 and we would be home by 5pm. This would mean 11-13 hours per week of childcare, with the rest of the time spent helping around the house, which could be on a daily basis or a on a couple days per week.
Job start: early September 2021, with financially compensated time getting to know our family in August/early September.
