My name is Sarah and I am looking for someone to help me with my 5-year-old boy, do light house cleaning, cooking, and some other chores. I live on the plateau and I have a sweet 9 years old golden named Chewie (Chewbacca).
My son is a very happy child and is always in a good mood. He also has a lot of energy! He’s a very cerebral kid and enjoys learning, reading, and counting. He also never cries, rarely hurts himself, and prefers to not get too dirty. He’s a really great kid.
I am a French/American that landed in Canada 12 years ago. I would hope that people would describe me as friendly! I am completely bilingual but I speak in French to my boy. He is not fully bilingual but I want him to be so I am fine if you only speak English. I live in a 3 bedroom apartment on the plateau that I like to keep very tidy and organized. I play the piano and the guitar which you are welcome to play when here. My significant other and I work long hours and cannot be free before 6ish at the earliest which is why I am seeking help!
I am a strict mother. Although I love to laugh and play, I expect my son to be respectful and polite at all times. There are no exceptions to please’s, thank you’s, or excuse me’s. There is nothing said or done that should lack respect and if it does, I ask him systematically to do/say it over respectfully. Also, although he is an only child, he is taught (work in progress) that he is not the only one that matters and that it is not always his way. I expect him to treat you (as well as anyone else) with that level of respect and I will fully support you in implementing this in my absence as well as in front of me!
Your tasks would be to pick my son up from day camp no later than 4 pm Monday-Friday, every other week (as he is with his dad every other week), and bring him back to our home by 6:30ish. So you will have a minimum of 12-13 hours per week but almost always more. You can hang out/do activities outside such as go to the park, the pool, etc. Afterward, back at home, at times I’ll need you to cook dinner. If things open back up, sometimes evening babysitting. Evening babysitting would include a bath (he is autonomous but you have to make sure) and reading a book. Lights out at 8:30 and he is a fast and easy sleeper. Sometimes, instead of bringing him back to my house, I would ask that you bring him to his 80-year-old grandmother’s house about 10min away. If you are looking for some additional hours, I may need dog walking at times, doing chores, etc.
Looking forward to meeting you!
