Our needs – as far as schedule/hours – are likely to change through time. Initially, we may need up to 8h per day during the week, but this will hopefully taper off. As a result, we will need someone who is quite flexible. Our hope is that if things work out we would eventually move to a set schedule – perhaps 3 afternoons/mornings a week – or as needed support.
My sense is that this might be a good opportunity for someone recently retired – or a student – as flexibility is more important to us than all-day-every-day coverage. We can also be flexible as there are grandparents nearby and both my wife and I work from home.
With respect to childcare, we need someone to keep him out of trouble, play with him, feed him breakfast/lunch/dinner, and perhaps go on some small adventures (the park, shopping, maybe a meal out).
With respect to housekeeping, we just need the kitchen and common areas kept tidy, food preparation for our son, and perhaps some laundry. We’re of course open to more – e.g. grocery shopping – but this isn’t critical.
CPR, first aid, and background check is required. Some previous education/training in a relevant field (e.g. ECE) would be a plus. A valid driver’s license is also nice to have.
